We love to watch The Dick Van Dyke Show on Netflix. (In fact, we like to watch whatever Dick Van Dyke appears in.) For act 288, we watched an episode in our bed as I held your hand and we (unintentionally) fell asleep. That probably wasn’t the best idea because our laptop was on my lap and I tend to toss and turn during the night.
Day 287: While I Was Sleeping
July 25, 2012On Wednesday, I accidentally fell asleep on the couch at 7:30 PM and didn’t wake up until around 7 the next day.
What happened while I slept? You put the girls to bed, cleaned the living room and kitchen, and took care of the girls when they woke up during the night. That was incredible of you.
In the morning, I did Wednesday’s act of love by writing you a thank-you note and I also thanked you in person.
Day 286: Fighting Fair
July 25, 2012For act 286, I read this article from Focus on the Family about fighting fair. I don’t think we fight a lot, but I’m not sure we fight fair when we do. I tend to verbalize my complaints about you or our marriage ad nauseam, which isn’t cool. But neither would it be cool to always pretend like things are okay. It seems that the main point of the article was that we should not go to extremes by either over or under verbalizing those things that are bothering us.
